602-608 South Union Avenue, c. 1923
As with other nearby buildings, this was owned by Anna H. Mitchell in the 1920s. She was the wife of William F. Mitchell, who was the nephew of Annie E. Seneca (of Seneca Cannery). Because the Mitchells owned a lot of property this obviously was an investment property for them.
In 1952, Anna Mitchell sold this to Dr. Richard B. Norment and since then the property has been owned by different groups of physicians who had their medical practices here. No doubt each group made their own modifications to suit their differing needs. In 1998 the property was bought by Dr. Thomas Edgar Jordan who later deeded it to 602-608 South Union Avenue, LLC.
In 2013 Dr. Jordan died unexpectedly at the age of 54. He was a graduate of Havre de Grace High School, the University of Maryland and other colleges. His wife was Dr. Christine Hatem, daughter of the late Dr. Frederick J. Hatem, another prominent physician in Havre de Grace, and his wife, Arianna, and they were supporters of many local causes. The property is now owned by 602-608 South Union Avenue, LLC.
